Summer Chill
Greetings! It’s hard to believe summer is already at an end and we have arrived at the second half of 2023. The month of July was a vacation month for the Mull family. We traveled to the Smoky Mountains and spent some well-needed family time. Yes, there is a place called Picken’s Nose, and the view is amazing! Now we are excited to get back to sharing how God is on the move in Bible translation!
From Every Language
Wycliffe’s vision is for people from every language to understand the Bible and be transformed. This includes people who use sign languages! There are over 70 million people using more than 380 sign languages around the world, only 2% of whom have heard the gospel. They are in desperate need of access to Bibles in their languages, and God is moving to meet that need! This year an unprecedented consultation took place. At this summit, more than 170 Deaf leaders from around the world met to discuss how to bring the Word of God to the waiting Deaf people across Eurasia and help them encounter Jesus in a way they clearly understand. Currently only American Sign Language has a full translation of Scripture*, but 65 languages have some scripture, and now the Church is rising up to make Scripture accessible in all sign languages! The American Sign Language Bible was completed by Deaf Missions in collaboration with partners like American Bible Society, Seed Company, DOOR International, Deaf Bible Society, Pioneer Bible Translators and Wycliffe Bible Translators USA.
