Catching the Vision

Catching the Vision

Hello friends and partners! We hope you all had an enjoyable Independence Day. We started the 4th at a parade with friends and ended the night at a ballpark eating pizza and watching the fireworks. We have had an amazing and packed month of June and are feeling so encouraged as we continue to see God build our team. Over the last month, we have been boldly prayed over, deeply encouraged, and greatly blessed by gifts of financial partnership from so many people, and we are humbled and grateful. Because of your generosity, we have 19.2% of our budget! Special thanks to those who gave anonymously whom we could not thank directly. We appreciate you!

Story

One of our favorite parts of sharing about Bible translation is seeing people catch the vision and see the mission as something not just for “missionaries”, but for them to engage in also!  The kingdom of God is a holistic kingdom, and He equips His Church through abundant and diverse gifts so that we can serve and spread the Gospel in a way that integrates into people’s lives. One example of this is in the way Wycliffe Benin is serving their community. They noticed that their literacy initiative was not effective long-term and that the translation of Scripture was not widely used. There was translation but not transformation, so they began to redesign Bible translation ministry to be more comprehensive. Literacy classes are no longer just for reading, but for relationship, discipleship, and meeting community needs. After this shift, the community began to respond with greater trust and acceptance. Now, the local community is beginning to catch the vision for Bible translation as their work, not just the translators’. Praise God! Prayer needs

  • That we would have sweet times with family and friends before we move

  • That God would continue to connect us with the right people

  • That God would encourage and inspire the Church across the world to catch the vision of Bible translation
