Prayers and Blessings

Happy March, friends! February was such a gift to us. We spent our Valentine’s Day eating Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets and researching the Lenten season which began on the 14th. We decided to begin a family prayer book to record both our prayers and His answers to them. We are writing down requests and intercessions that we go over every morning, and these times of prayer have been so sweet and edifying. We would be honored if you would send us your prayer requests to add to this journal, so that we can pray with you and also rejoice when the Lord answers!

Our “pouring into the community” has given us so much more than we feel we’ve given. The kids of the youth group Philip has helped with have been asking amazing questions about faith and walking with Jesus. Anna has spent a few wonderful evenings with kids in the childcare for a women’s Bible study with Helping Hands Ministry and got be a part of a worship service in a women’s prison with Enoch Contemporary Ballet Company. She can’t stop talking about it.

In addition to these blessings, we have had some incredibly encouraging meetings with seasoned missionaries both from Wycliffe and other organizations who took time to share with us their testimonies and the faithfulness of God. We are seeing and celebrating that faithfulness too. Baby M is growing and healthy, pregnancy has been smooth (only 2 months to go!), and we are just under  50% of our budget! Praise the Lord and thank you to those of you who are partnering with us.

Story from the Field

As we began this prayer book, I came across this story of answered prayer on the Wycliffe blog:

In 1975, Easter Island had no translation in Rapa Nui. Sam Anderson was just 5 years old, but he decided to pray for a translation of Scripture to begin into Rapa Nui. That same year, God answered Sam’s prayers by calling Wycliffe translators Bob and Nancy Webber to Easter Island to both strengthen the dying language and to start translation work. 40 years and many answered prayers later, the Webbers met Sam Anderson and were able to show him the completed New Testament in Rapa Nui. Prayer is SO important to any ministry undertaking done in the name of Jesus. Read the rest of the story here: https://wycliffe.org/blog/posts/god-hears-a-childs-prayers-for-easter-island
