We Passed
There is this term I have been using in my updates that I would like to explain to you. The term in question is Technical Evaluation or (TE) for short. This is basically a week-long test for the purpose of gauging mechanical Aptitude, technical knowledge, and individual personality. Think of the world's longest Job interview and you have a pretty good idea of what a TE is. Everyone who Joins the Aviation team at JAARS or any other missions aviation organization undergoes these TEs. Now you may be wondering why an organization, who is looking to fill a job with people who are technically skilled in a small field, devoted to the lord, and willing to raise their own support, would have such a long and difficult onboarding process? If you are, then you're not alone. I was wondering the same thing. Unfortunately I don’t have a concrete answer for you. What I can say is that it may have something to do with JAARS and other mission organizations wanting the individuals they send to the field to be good representations of the faith. I mean you wouldn't want to send someone like Tony Stark to the field, you may end up with more enemies than friends, no matter how smart the person is. That said, I am apparently not like Ironman because I passed. That’s right! After a week of tests that pushed me way past the limits of my knowledge, they said we are in. It felt so very good just to be done with the tests. I mean five days with no feedback is a long time, and I really hate in person tests. So now what you ask? Now we do more paperwork. Since we will officially be working for Wycliff and under JAARS we have to apply to Wycliff specifically. It’s not much in the way of paperwork. Just some references and maybe a phone call is all. We will need to choose a serving location before we can finish the application process though. The final day of the TE when we got the news we sat down with members of the team who shared all of the possible locations we could serve which I will now share with you. Papua Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Brazil, Peru, and finally JAARS headquarters in North Carolina. We have not made any decisions as of yet and are praying that the lord would show us where he wants us. We would love it if you all would pray for wisdom and insight for us as we make this decision, and we cannot wait to tell you where we will be going next.
Thank you all so much for your support!
Blessings.
